Catatonia as part of the psychomotor syndrome in schizophrenia


Although the prevalence and severity of catatonia may have decreased over time, it is still a highly relevant, frequently occurring symptom cluster that can be observed in schizophrenia patients. Apart from this syndrome, neurological soft signs, psychomotor slowing and extrapyramidal symptoms are other psychomotor symptom clusters that are part of the clinical picture of schizophrenia.
