Does DNA instability contribute to schizophrenia?

Researchers from Nagoya University (Japan) have conducted a highly sensitive genetic analysis to identify DNA sequence repeats that may play a role in schizophrenia. They demonstrated that patients with schizophrenia may have more DNA sequence repeats than control individuals, indicating a possible link between genome instability and the characteristics of the disease.
