How is epilepsy treated?

Written by Peter Brown

In honor of Epilepsy Week on Neurology Central, we have created an infographic to showcase current treatment options for epilepsy, as well as look ahead at future targets.
Click on the image below to enlarge the infographic, and do share your comments – where do you think the future of epilepsy treatment lies?

As well as our infographic, you can take a look at our #NCEpilepsyWeek interview with Marc Goodfellow (University of Exeter, UK), who, along with his colleagues, is pioneering research in to new techniques for identifying specific brain regions that trigger seizures in epilepsy.

We also sat down with Melodie Winawer, Associate Professor of Neurology in the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center at the Columbia University Medical Center (NY, USA), to discuss the current state of the field of genetics in epilepsy, and how our growing knowledge can be targeted in the development of new treatments. Parts one and two of the interview are now live.
