Could laquinimod slow multiple sclerosis progression?

Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco (CA, USA) have studied the effect of a drug, laquinimod, on disease progression and prevention in progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) mouse models. They observed a reduction in prevalence in one mouse population, as well as a reduction in progression in mice that had already developed MS symptoms, indicating that the drug could be a promising compound in the development of human treatments.
