A urine test for Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease?

Researchers from the MRC Prion Unit at University College London (UCL; London, UK) have developed a urine test that could be used in the diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). The test detects the presence of abnormal prion proteins typical of the neurodegenerative disorder and could soon replace the multitude of tests currently used to diagnose the disease.
