Dementia, biomarkers and an extraordinary study: Nick Fox on Insight 46

Written by Lauren Pulling, Editor

Nick Fox, Director of the Dementia Research Centre and Professor of Clinical Neurology at University College London (UK), discusses his new study, Insight 46, with Neuro Central Editor Lauren Pulling.

Insight 46 will explore potential biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias using 500 participants from the 1946 cohort, a remarkable group of around 5000 individuals who have been followed throughout their lives as part of the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). In this interview, Prof Fox explains the significance of the cohort, the impact that this new study could have on dementia research and treatment, and the importance of lifetime population data in neuroscience.
