Alzheimer’s disease patients may have a lower risk of developing lung cancer

Researchers from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (Madrid, Spain) have published findings suggesting that patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have a higher risk of developing glioblastoma and a lower risk of lung cancer. The data were published in Scientific Reports, and could pave the way for researchers to discover new uses for existing drugs, as well as novel therapeutic combinations, to treat patients based on their specific genomic information.
