Rapid eye movements could be utilized to detect autism

Researchers based at the University of Rochester Medical Center Del Monte Neuroscience Institute (NY, USA) have reported a method that could be utilized to identify a sub-group of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The authors propose rapid eye movements as a tool that could highlight deficits in the cerebellum, an area of the brain known to be involved in emotional and social development, as being partially responsible for the development of ASD.
