Effects of long-term schizophrenia medication use unraveled in new study

The first study to follow lifetime exposure to antidepressants, tranquilizers and antipsychotics for the treatment of schizophrenia has produced results contrasting with previous findings that such medications affect cognitive function in the long-term. The results were presented at the 30th ECNP conference in Paris, France (2–5 September 2017).
