New small-molecule drug may restore brain function in mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease

A new drug, termed anle138b, has been demonstrated to improve learning ability and restore normal brain activity in mice with an Alzheimer’s-like condition. The mice were previously displaying symptoms, including loss of memory, high levels of amyloid-beta and tau in the brain and abnormal brain function.
