Study indicates all degrees of concussion may increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease

A recent study published in the online issue of Neurology (18 April 2018) has indicated that a concussion could increase the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease by 56%. Researchers examined 325,870 veterans, ranging in age from 31 to 65, from three US veteran’s health administration medical databases – half of whom had been diagnosed, by a physician, with mild-to-severe brain trauma and half who had not.
