Dementia risk factors unidentifiable in half of adults surveyed

Alzheimer’s Research UK (Cambridge, UK) has revealed findings from one of their most comprehensive surveys of UK-wide public perceptions of dementia and research. The findings highlight the continuing misconceptions around the physical nature of the disease, as well as low understanding of the risk factors for dementia.

The survey, termed the Dementia Attitudes Monitor, includes data from 2361 interviews conducted by Ipsos MORI (London, UK) between 15 June and 5 July 2018.
