Vitamin D supplements could improve symptoms in children with autism spectrum disorder

An international group of researchers have published findings reporting that vitamin D3 supplementation may have beneficial effects on symptoms in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Symptoms such as hyperactivity and social withdrawal significantly improved following administration of supplements, indicating that vitamin D3 could present a potential future strategy for managing ASD. It has been demonstrated previously that there is a correlation between ASD in children and vitamin D insufficiency.
