Call for Papers – Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience: The microbiota-gut-brain axis in neuropsychiatry: advances in research and clinical practice
Do you have original research or review papers you wish to publish on the microbiota-gut-brain axis in neuropsychiatry? Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience invites you to submit your paper to its latest Article Collection entitled ‘The microbiota-gut-brain axis in neuropsychiatry: advances in research and clinical practice’.
The microbiome-gut-brain axis represents a complex bidirectional system of communication between the gut microbiome, the gut and the central nervous system. The association between the microbiome-gut-brain axis and neuropsychiatric disorders highlights the profound impact this axis has on mental health and neurological diseases, leading to several novel insights.
The Article Collection welcomes papers highlighting the latest discoveries, methodologies and future directions in understanding and leveraging the microbiome-gut-brain axis in neuropsychiatric disorders, including but not limited to the following subtopics:
- Clinical and preclinical association studies between microbiota composition and neuropsychiatric disorders, neurodegenerative disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Mechanisms through which microbiota composition can influence the development of these disorders.
- Identification of potential biomarkers for neuropsychiatric disorders, in the context of the microbiome-gut-brain axis.
- Investigation of microbiome-based therapeutic potential.
- Investigation of the role of diet in modulating the microbiome-gut-brain axis, and its subsequent role in neuropsychiatric disorders.
- Investigation of the molecular underpinnings underlying the network of communication between the gut, the gut microbiome and the central nervous system, and how these influence the development of neuropsychiatric disorders.
