Gareth Southgate joins the HEADING study

Gareth Southgate, who is the Manager of the England National Football Team, has announced that he will be taking part in the HEADING study, which aims to examine the associations between a history of concussion and heading the ball and neurodegenerative disease in retired football players. In line with this, Gareth Southgate will also be leading the Football Association’s support to encourage former professional footballers to take part in research studies that are investigating these links.
