The ‘Dementia Preventative Initiative’: an individualistic approach to Alzheimer’s prevention

Neuroscientists at Florida Atlantic University (FL, USA) have been thinking ‘out-of-the-box’ by focusing on ways to prevent Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The program developed by James Galvin (Florida Atlantic University)and his colleagues is a 2-year clinical trial called the ‘Dementia Prevention Initiative’ (DPI). It has an unconventional ’N-of-1 design’, taking a personalized approach to studying and preventing dementia.
