Call for Papers – Journal of Pain Research: The future of pain medicine: emerging technologies, treatments and education


Do you have original research or review papers you wish to publish about the future of pain medicine? The Journal of Pain Research invites you to submit your paper to its latest Article Collection entitled ‘The future of pain medicine: emerging technologies, treatments and education’.

As traditional pain management approaches face significant challenges, the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, cloud-based solutions, wearables and advanced neuromodulation techniques offers new avenues for personalized and effective interventions.

This Article Collection aims to encourage researchers to contribute to the ongoing dialogue and propel the field toward a future where technology serves as a powerful ally in the fight against pain. It welcomes papers from a spectrum of subjects aligned with the scope of our journal, including but not limited to:

  • Application of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, wearables and cloud-based technologies in collaboration, monitoring, diagnosis, management and outcomes.
  • Novel applications of neuromodulation such as sensory, motor or functional restoration.
  • Exploration of psychedelics for the management of chronic pain.
  • Education reform to accommodate a more efficient and comprehensive training process that equips trainees with the necessary skills to start practice.
