Acquiring viable astrocytes and microglia from adult brain tissue: an interview with Pascale Eede & Verena Haage

Written by Verena Haage (Max Delbrück Center, Berlin, Germany) & Pascale Eede (Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin, Germany)

At the European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease (10–13 July 2019, Porto, Portugal), Miltenyi Biotec (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) organized a workshop on ‘Adult neural cells from healthy and diseased brains – challenges and opportunities’.

During this meeting, Drs Verena Haage (Max Delbrück Center, Berlin, Germany) and Pascale Eede (Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin, Germany) presented interesting and informative talks on their research with astrocytes and microglia, as well as their experiences on acquiring viable glial cells from adult brain tissues. We also had the opportunity to interview Dr Ana Mendanha Falcão (Karolinska Institutet, Solna, Sweden) about her talk on oligodendrocyte heterogeneity, which you can view here.
