David Brody is a Professor of Neurology at Washington University (MO, USA) and directs the traumatic brain injury (TBI) clinic at the University. We met up with David at the inaugural Frontiers in TBI conference (London, UK, 13–14 July 2017) to hear more about his work on animal models of the neurodegeneration that follows TBI, as well as new research into astrocyte degeneration in CTE. He also discusses his outlook on the future of the field and the importance of developing neuroimaging techniques, particularly at the molecular level.
